Evangelical Children’s Home

In 1858, the Evangelical Children’s Home (formerly known as German Protestant Orphan’s Home) was founded by Reverend Louis Nollau.  For 150 years, the Evangelical Children’s Home has been a safe haven for children who have experienced tumultuous times in their lives.

The Evangelical Children’s Home has grown from solely offering housing to children in need to providing affordable childcare, an on-grounds school, youth programs, a counseling center, and a variety of family oriented counseling programs. In addition, they began a Kansas City facility.

The Evangelical Children’s Home and Steppingstone (the Kansas City facility) strive to provide families with the tools to deal with a variety of complex family and personal issues to prevent future problems later in life.

Today, the Evangelical Children’s Home is home to 50 full-time live in children and more than 45 daycare children.
