NetEffects is seeking a Tivoli Netcool Engineer for one of our highly regarded clients.
Required Skills:
- At least five (5) years system administration experience
- At least three (3) years technical writing experience (requirements, design documents, test plans)
- Configuration, customization, troubleshooting and administration of monitoring tools primarily focused on IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus and Netcool/Webtop
- Understanding of data integration from external sources with IBM Tivoli Netcool.
- Provide support for IBM Tivoli Netcool production system issues
- Experience with administration, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching and customization of IBM Tivoli Netcool
- Maintain, update and troubleshoot the monitoring rule base in IBM Tivoli Netcool
- Strong communication skills; making presentations to customers and peers.
- Experience programming/scripting using Perl, shell, batch and job scheduling
- Experience with applications that interface to external databases
Responsibilities:
- Engineering and implementation of OSS Monitoring and Element Management tool suite.
- Tivoli Netcool Engineer will be the key intermediary between engineering and our customer base for all functionality associated with OSS tool suite.
- Manage the tool suit environment and conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for system.
- Mentor operations and OSS staff on capabilities and use of the technology.
- Contribute to engineering and development efforts that bring additional functionality to market in support of corporate objectives.
- Be a key contributor of the team responsible for design and implementation of our world class monitoring and element management solution.
