NetEffects is seeking a talented Senior Cisco Engineer for one of our highly regarded financial clients.
Required Skills:
· At least three (3) years experience with Cisco Switches and Routers/ physical (no software) installations of IBM,SUN, Fujitsu and Dell servers
· At least three (3) years experience with data center environment hardware, server like devices, RSA Remote Server Access Unit, and KVM keyboard monitor access
· Knowledge of emerging network technologies and protocols
· Core experience in data communications, networking, telecommunications, data processing and related industries. In depth knowledge of operational characteristics of network based products and services
· Expert in IP Telephony with strong Call Manager and Unity skills.
· Extended knowledge of circuit switching and packet switching networks.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related experience.
· Excellent communication skills, very reliable, hardworking and able to work independently.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification as a CCNP, CIPT etc.
Responsibilities:
· Cisco engineer will be preparing install packets for data center installations complete with IP addressing assignments and documentation
· Design and deliver network and communications solutions that satisfy member, product, service, and backbone requirements.
· Resolve network communications and operations problems impacting member or backbone access and performance globally.
· May research and evaluate new technology for possible deployment on the network.
· May assume lead and total accountability for ongoing regional projects as assigned, including responsibility for planning, time and cost control, resource utilization and implementation.
