Position Details:  UNIX Administrator

Location:

 NetEffects is seeking a multi-faceted UNIX Administrator that has excellent communication skills for one of our highly regarded fortune 500 clients.

 

Required Skills:

  • At least six (6) years of related experience in an information technology environment.
  • Solid experience with UNIX operating systems (Solaris, HPUX, Linux) and Web support.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Weblogic, Apache, Bluecoat Proxy appliances, IIS, Google search appliances, Tibco InConcert, Tibco Businessworks, JMS, File transfer protocols,  and CameronFIX.

 

Responsibilities:

  • UNIX Administrator responsibilities include incident management, implementation, configuration and/or maintenance of multi-technology platforms such as mainframes, midrange platforms, servers, security devices, desktops and networks. 
  • Primary function of the UNIX Administrator will be tier-2 web and middleware support.
  • Provide more complex technical services for the computing infrastructure to ensure technical health and security of the computing environment.
  • Ensure a stable operating environment and maximum utilization of system facilities.
