NetEffects is seeking a Computer Operator for one of our highly regarded fortune 500 clients.
Required Skills:
- At least one (1) year Window Server, Unix, SAP, and VMS experience.
- Core knowledge of mainframe processors and associated hardware/software.
- Network a(LAN/WAN), VPN, RAS, Web, and intrusion detection experience.
Responsibilities:
- Computer Operator diagnoses system problems and performs all necessary tasks to operate and monitor computer equipment in a multiple platform environment, in order to ensure job scheduling requirements are met.
- Assist in diagnosing system problems in order to improve the systems operating environment.
- Monitor Window Server, Unix, SAP, and VMS backups in a large Data Center environment.
- Monitor multiple CPU platforms and applications to ensure adequate performance in preventing processing delays to the end users and membership.
- Computer Operator responds to and promptly escalates hardware, software and application failures.
- Assist in hardware and software system recoveries.
- Monitor and support all Network activity (LAN/WAN), VPN, RAS, Web, and intrusion detection.
- Perform all functions of computer operations to maintain system performance, hardware and software availability.
- Computer Operator monitors the transmission of bulk data files throughout the system and ensure that all files are transmitted or received, in order to be processed by the end user or entered into mainframe processing.
