NetEffects is seeking a multi-faceted Systems Administrator for one of America’s leading companies in the Midwest.
Required Skills:
- At least three (3) years configuring Windows and/or Red Hat Linux systems
- At least two (2) years experience with Linux, VM Ware, EMC SAN
- Practical understanding of the basic Unix, Linux and Windows commands
- Working knowledge of general storage and SAN Technologies
- Working knowledge of server blade technology and/or virtualization or comparable experience
Responsibilities:
- Systems Administrator will support Server Hardware, Operating Systems, Applications Software, and All Peripheral Hardware systems
- Systems Administrator will manage, plan, install and document patching processes and procedures for HP/UX, Windows and Linux servers
- Resolve issues by finding the root causes of system incompatibilities and recommend courses of action to prevent any reoccurrence of the issue.
- Configure, install, and test all Server Hardware, Operating Systems, Application Software and Peripherals
- Perform storage administrator tasks and trending of the storage environment on SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached storage devices
- Support and monitor Virtual Machine environment
- Provide mentoring to first-level analysts, as necessary to resolve issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and upgrades or replace faulty hardware components, such as hard drives, network cards
- Systems Administrator will upgrade software applications, maintain software libraries and configurations, licensing files; and keep abreast of planned software releases/versions.
- Support and maintain user account information including rights and security for windows and Linux Environments.
