Tips on snagging great travel deals!
1. Airline Tickets- Thinking of traveling by air? It is best to buy tickets two weeks in advance. Tickets prices often are at their lowest on Wednesday nights at 12 am. Sign up for frequent flyer programs and install desktop applications (on your home computer of course) like Southwest Ding that will alert you with air fare deals.
2. Road Trip- Have a road trip planned? Road trips are great for family bonding and to see the country side. Save on gas by using a gas rebate card like Chase Freedom MasterCard.
3. Hotel Stay- Want to save on your hotel stay? Of course there are sites like Priceline (good for both hotels or airfare) and hotels.com that can help save on your overnight stay. Also, think about becoming an AAA member as members often receive discounts on numerous hotels.
4. “Staycation”- Not going anywhere on your vacation? A “staycation” is a great money saving idea. During the week there are often deals that are not available on weekends. Here in St. Louis there are free movies offered at Wherenberg Theaters which is great for keeping you and your family cool and entertained. Also, theme and water parks like Six Flags often have mid week deals that can save you a ton of cash with the same amount of fun!
