HOT WHEELS: NetEffects recruiter Rachel Sarino tears up the track to win the Ladies division title in her first year of timed autocross racing.
Mix a five foot, four-inch frame with a determination to work hard and achieve with a willingness to take on challenges like autocross racing, add a dash of earning your own private pilot’s license, stir in a new baby on the way in June and you come up with NetEffects’ recruiter, Rachel Sarino.
With a smile that would light up any room, Rachel talks excitedly about her recruiting responsibilities at NetEffects and her relationship with her candidates that are the focus of her time on the job.
The holder of a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development from the University of Technology in Malaysia, Rachel brings four years of recruiting experience in the IT industry managing call center staffing for clients like Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
After managing a call center with a staff of 115 in Malaysia, she decided to travel and see the world, ending up in San Francisco to visit her student brother. There she met her husband-to-be, James, who lives in St. Louis. After a whirlwind romance, she came to St. Louis, they were married and are now happily settled in a new home with their first child on the way.
“When I fix my mind on something, I do it,” Rachel said. She uses that determination to find great candidates for her clients.
It’s the same determination she brings to all her efforts. Introduced only last year to Autocross (timed auto racing) by her husband, she was this year’s St. Louis Region winner in the Sports Car Club of America Ladies Class race. NetEffects was one of her car’s sponsors.
And with it all, she finds time to fly (she’s a licensed pilot flying Cessna’s), works with her church, helps in local food pantries during the holidays and collects items for local childrens’ homes.
“Working at NetEffects is the best job I’ve ever had,” Rachel said. “Here I get to be focused; I can concentrate on building relationships with candidates so that I find the best ones for my clients.”
As this is her first U.S. job, NetEffects helped Rachel with adjusting to the professional IT and recruiting industry here. As many of our consultants come from overseas, NetEffects has a staffer that specializes in assisting all our consultants meet professional, and especially the personal needs, that result from moving here from another country.
“I’ve been successful because NetEffects cares. That means a lot to me,” Rachel said.
