January 23, 2015

St. Louis is filled with plenty of great things to do to entertain, enhance your career, expand your mind, and just take in all that the city has to offer. Near the end of each month, we'll publish a list of events to mark your calendar for, that occur in the forthcoming month. We know planning and coordination take time. Mark your calendars, people!TECH & THE START-UP COMMUNITY:The good people at UP St. Louis have a wonderful list of the many opportunities for February listed on their site that they've been so kind to compile in an easy-to digest form (whoo!) While there, subscribe to their newsletter and have start-up events delivered right to your inbox each month.PHILANTHROPIC & FUN:The Arya Foundation (established by a neteffects' Alumni!) will be hosting a Trivia Night on February 14th at the Maryland Heights Community Center. Doors open at noon and the trivia begins at 12:30 p.m. Time to spread the love with your nearest and dearest all for a great cause.EDUCATION & PERSONAL ENRICHMENT:Do you code? Want to hang with friends (or friends in the making) and code for as long or as little as you'd like? Then you should check into the Meetup Group, Code Until Dawn. Their February event is being held on the 27th. Check out their Meetup page, and get more info on this event. While you're at it, you should also join their community. Lots of opportunity to meet other passionate tech people from all backgrounds.Speaking of coding...are you a fan of javascript? The STL.JA Meetup is being held on February 19th. They will be exploring the microcontroller, Tessel, which is a tool for hardware development for javascript developers.ENTERTAINMENT:Did you know St. Louis is home to the 2nd largest Mardi Gras event in the world. In short, it's several weekends of great events leading up to the party of all parties north of New Orleans. Take a look at Mardi Gras Inc.'s convenient event info and calendar. Disclosure: Some events, such as the Pet Parade, are kid-friendly. Other events are best left for the adults.
